Why Banyan Scroll

What makes this approach different

Education before decisions

You understand what you are choosing and why, rather than signing documents whose implications are unclear.

Hong Kong–specific context

All content is grounded in Hong Kong law and common local circumstances, including cross-border property and family situations.

Self-paced, no pressure

The material is available when you are ready for it. There is no expectation that you process everything in one sitting.

Family-inclusive framing

Courses include guidance on conversations to have with family members — often the part that feels hardest to start.

Practical materials included

Worksheets, checklists, and glossaries accompany each course so the learning stays with you after the sessions end.

Professional collaboration

We work alongside solicitors and trust practitioners, not instead of them. Courses prepare you to have better professional conversations.

Common Questions

Questions we often hear

Do I need to have any legal knowledge before joining?
No prior knowledge is needed or assumed. The courses are written for people who have thought about estate planning without having had a professional conversation about it yet. Legal terms are explained in plain English throughout.
Are these courses a substitute for legal advice?
They are not, and we are clear about that distinction throughout. These programmes are educational. They help you understand your situation and prepare better questions for the solicitor or trust practitioner you will eventually work with.
How long does each course take per week?
Most participants find two to three hours per week is comfortable. The structure is designed to fit around working and family life. There is no live attendance required, so you read and work through materials at times that suit you.
Is the content relevant if my family holds property outside Hong Kong?
Cross-border circumstances are addressed directly, particularly in the Trusts and Succession Planning and Family Legacy Blueprint programmes. We do not offer legal advice for other jurisdictions, but we help you understand which questions to raise with advisers there.
What happens after I complete a course?
Participants retain all course materials. The Family Legacy Blueprint includes a private review conversation after the programme ends. For other courses, we are available by email if questions arise from the material after completion.
How much does it cost and what is included?
Courses are priced at HKD 1,680 (Wills and Estate Basics), HKD 2,580 (Trusts and Succession Planning), and HKD 3,250 (Family Legacy Blueprint). Each price includes all course materials, worksheets, and any included review sessions or forums.
